We welcome student and graduate attachments to our office - following written application to opl@opl.org.ki
All students and graduates must sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
Work experience students may also be hosted, usually for shorter periods. Please contact usto find out more.

OPL Lawyers are bound by the Professional Conduct provisions of the Kiribati Law Society Act 2006 - including
Section 11. Fundamental obligations of lawyers
A lawyer must, in the course of his or her practice, comply with the following fundamental
obligations—
(a) the obligation to uphold the rule of law and to facilitate the administration of justice in
Kiribati ;
(b) the obligation to be independent in providing professional services to his or her clients;
(c) the obligation to act in accordance with all fiduciary duties and duties of care owed by
lawyers to their clients; and
(d) the obligation to protect, subject to his or her overriding duties as an officer of the High
Court and to his or her duties under any Act, the interests of his or her clients.
